The Norwich City youngster posted a photo of him on Snapchat alongside teammate, Donovan Daniels, with a caption saying "We are going to lose......Again."

The statement released to the official Blackpool club website read, "I’d like to offer my sincerest apologies to the manager, my team-mates, the fans and everybody at Blackpool Football Club for the hurt and embarrassment that a recent photo message I sent has caused. It was totally unprofessional of me and a foolish thing to do."

Since arriving in Lancashire from the Canaries, Murphy has scored twice in three appearences for the Championship footers.

The statement went on to add, "I have loved my time at Blackpool so far, and I’ve been really grateful for the support I’ve received. I know I have let the manager and fans down badly, but I aim to repay them by working even harder and helping the team climb up the league table."

"I’d also like to make clear that Donervon Daniels had no part in this and I apologise for implicating him."

Blackpool boss Lee Clark has a tough job on his hands with the club, and he also commented on the matter.

"I'm extremely disappointed because I expect nothing but total professionalism from my players." the former Birmingham and Huddersfield boss stated, "We will now investigate this matter internally before deciding upon an outcome."

Blackpool currently sit rock-bottom of the Sky Bet Championship, having amassed 14 points from 24 league games, they are a sizeable nine points away from escaping the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, over 3000 people have signed a petition to get Blackpool chairman kicked out of the club, as reported on FLW here.
