Sky Sports are reporting that Blackpool are lining up a move for former Brighton midfielder Andrea Orlandi.
The Spaniard is a free agent after seeing out his contract with Blackpool’s Championship rivals Brighton & Hove Albion and it appears that the Seasiders are weighing up offering Orlandi a deal.
The 29 year-old is currently training with his old club Swansea City in a bid to keep up his fitness while he finds a new club. Orlandi has had offers from his native Spain but is looking to remain in England.
Orlandi was brought to England by former Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez back in 2007 following spells with Alaves and Barcelona. The midfielder has since made 74 league appearances during a five-year stint with Swansea before later making 49 appearances in two seasons whilst with Brighton.
The move would continue a busy week of transfer activity for Blackpool that has seen four new arrivals in the form of defender Peter Clarke, midfielders Tomasz Cywka and Jacob Mellis as well as striker Nathan Delfouneso. The club are also reportedly close to announcing the arrival of Costa Rica midfielder Jose Miguel Cubero who has tweeted photos of himself at Bloomfield Road recently.
