Blackpool complete six-figure transfer agreement

Published

on

Blackpool are said to have completed the signing of Rochdale striker Jake Beesley for a six-figure fee, as per a recent report by Football Insider.

The Sky Bet Championship side entered into advanced talks with the Dale and the player on Saturday and now appear close to unveiling the frontman as their new signing.

Beesley is said to have completed a medical ahead of his move to Bloomfield Road and signed his contract with the Seasiders.

The transfer is now set to be announced imminently.

Boasting a good scoring record lower down the Football League pyramid, Beesley leaves Rochdale after notching up 19 goals in just over 50 games for the Lancashire based outfit.

Did Blackpool sign Elliot Embleton on loan during the previous winter transfer window?

He will now be looking to break into the Blackpool side under his new boss, Neil Critchley, once the move is rubber stamped and announced in the not too distant future by his new club.

The Verdict

This is an interesting move for the Seasiders as they are a club that is well stocked when it comes to strikers that they currently have within their squad.

Beesley now comes in as another option, which means that one of the existing forward options could well be set to depart Bloomfield Road.

There has been talk recently that Tyreece John-Jules could return to Arsenal, so perhaps this is the biggest sign yet that his loan spell with Blackpool is coming to an end.

Meanwhile the club will certainly be hoping that Beesley hits the ground running after completing his move, with the step up to Championship level sure to be a big test for the striker, especially after signing for what appears to be a substantial fee.

It will be intriguing to see where he fits in and how much game time he gets in the opening few weeks of his career with his new side.
