It is hard to think of a player over the last four or five seasons who has had as big an impact at the club as Bradley Dack.
Signed from Gillingham last summer for around £700,000, Dack has been the main man at Ewood Park and the driving force behind all of their recent success.
In his first season with Tony Mowbray’s side, he scored 18 goals in League One and contributed nine assists as well as the club bounced straight back into the Championship.
There question marks this season as to whether he could carry that form into the second tier but he has answered them emphatically, scoring seven goals in his first 13 Championship appearances of his career.
With that calibre of performance in the second tier comes interest from above and that will be no different with Dack.
The Sun have already reported that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for the 24-year-old and they will not be alone either.
If the dreaded were to happen, Rovers fans should not fear. The perfect replacement is already waiting for them in League One.
In a Brad for Brad swap, Mowbray should move for Barnsley midfielder Brad Potts if he does lose Dack.
Potts is a very similar player to Dack in that he is a central midfielder by trade but is more often than not found in the opposition area sniffing out chances and scoring goals.
The 24-year-old already has five League One goals this season and looks set to emulate the sort of form that got Dack so many plaudits last season.
His contract at Oakwell currently runs until 2020 so would most likely take a decent sum to bring him in, but that would easily be covered by any fee they receive for Dack.
Obviously, Blackburn’s first port of call should be to try and hold onto their star man, but if his head is turned and an irresistible offer comes in, Potts is the perfect player to step in.
