Blackburn’s 18/19 Championship survival hopes could hinge on these summer deals being struck

Blackburn will need to invest in their squad if they want to ensure that they stay in the division.

Rovers finished second behind Wigan Athletic to achieve promotion and go straight back up to the Championship at the first time of asking. They will take heart from the fact that all three promoted teams were able to stay up this season with two finishing in the top half.

Tony Mowbray should be wary, though, because there are a number of loan signings in his side, especially in forward areas, who will need to be replaced. Players such as Adam Armstrong are unlikely to be at the club next season, so their contributions will have to be replaced with new personnel.

Blackburn have a good squad especially for a League One side, but they need to use it as a platform to build from rather than just relying on that.
