Blackburn Rovers have slapped a £12 million price tag on striker Jordan Rhodes after interest from Hull City, reports the Hull Daily Mail.
The Premier League side have stepped up their interest in the 24-year-old but an £8m bid was rejected by Rovers yesterday.
Now the Lancashire side have told the Tigers they will have to pay £12m if they want the Scotland international.
Rhodes joined Blackburn in 2012 in an £8m deal from Huddersfield Town and has hit 52 goals in 90 appearances.
The Hull Daily Mail understands that Rhodes is open to a move to Hull as boss Steve Bruce looks to add a new striker to his squad following the sale of Shane Long to Southampton.
Speaking after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Lokeren in the Europa League play-off first-leg, Bruce admitted his interest in Rhodes but said the matter now being dealt with by the board.
“The bid went in,” Bruce said. “I don’t know whether it’s been accepted we’ll have to see.
“But I wouldn’t have made a bid if I didn’t like him.”
