The Jordan Rhodes deal to Middlesbrough may still have life left in it before the deadline shuts, with the player now on his way to Middlesbrough to continue talks, according to Sky Sports.
A deal could still be on the table for the prolific striker, with the fee believed to have been agreed but personal terms were previously not agreed. Communication between parties has however been resumed in an attempt to revive the deal.
The Blackburn striker is arguably the best marksman in the league with his consistency to find the net, an attractive quality for Middlesbrough who despite sitting second in the league, don’t score many goals.
The Rhodes deal looked like a huge statement of intent for the club who are desperate to gain promotion to the Premier League this season.
They’ve already spent big on David Nugent and Stewart Downing this season and with the club in a strong position, four points clear of third place with a game hand, they will be desperate to not let that gap slip.
With the deadline looming, this is certainly one of the most eye catching deals to look out for.
Middlesborough fans, how big a step would this be to gaining promotion? Are you happy with the fee that you offered? Let us know in the comments below!
