Blackburn striker could be set to stay after Owen Coyle quashes rumours of an exit

The Scottish Sun are reporting that Owen Coyle has moved to rubbish rumours linking Anthony Stokes with a move away from Blackburn Rovers.

Anthony Stokes has been linked with a loan move to Polish outfit Jagiellonia Bialystok but Coyle has denied that there is any truth in that.

Stokes has been out of favour at Blackburn Rovers recently, given the good form of strike duo Sam Gallagher and Danny Graham.

The former Celtic and Hibernian man hit three goals in his first two appearances for Rovers but has struggled for game time since.

Stokes has 8 appearances in all competitions for Blackburn and his only goal since the opening two games came for their under 23 side in the Checkatrade Trophy draw against Oldham Athletic.

His lack of participation led reports to suggest that he could be on his way to Ekstraklasa giants Jagiellonia as the Polish window is still open.

However, Coyle has dismissed it as merely speculation.
