Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers are among a host of clubs interested in signing Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart in the summer, according to reports from the Sun.

The former Manchester City shot-stopper has endured an incredibly turbulent campaign with Burnley, making 21 appearances for Sean Dyche's men in all competitions this term.

But the 32-year old hasn't made an appearance for the Lancashire club since Boxing Day, falling behind Tom Heaton in the pecking order at Turf Moor.

And according to reports from the Sun, Blackburn are in the queue to sign the 75-time England international, however his high wages could be a problem for Tony Mowbray's men.

It is claimed that Hart does not want to take a drop in wages, therefore Blackburn's only chances of securing the shot-stopper's services would be to sign him on loan, and hope that their bitter local rivals could pay a portion of his salary.

The Verdict

I think it would be a massive coup to sign someone of Hart's quality and calibre in the summer.

He may not have played an awful lot of games this season, but he is still a very good goalkeeper and would provide real experience between the sticks.

Would he be open to a move to the Championship? I doubt it in all honesty. His wages could well prove to be a stumbling block and you can't imagine Burnley will want to help their rivals out, so Mowbray may have to look elsewhere.
