Blackburn Rovers remain in touch with the play-off chasing sides in the Championship, as they look to win a long-awaited promotion back into the Premier League this term.

Rovers are currently sat tenth in the second tier standings, and are just three points adrift of the play-off places with nine matches remaining in this year's campaign.

However, their push for a top-six finish has been put on hold for the time being due to recent off-the-field events, with no scheduled return date being finalised as of yet by the relevant authorities.

One player that hasn't had a chance to play his part in that promotion bid since the back end of 2019 is Bradley Dack, with the 26-year-old initially being ruled out injured for the remainder of the season with a serious knee injury sustained against Wigan Atheltic.

But given the extended break from action, it has given Dack the opportunity to step up his recovery, which is pleasing to hear for everyone associated with the Lancashire-based club.

The Verdict:

What a boost this could be for Blackburn.

Dack has been a key player for them since arriving at Ewood Park, and the club's supporters will be eager to see him remain with Tony Mowbray's side for the foreseeable future.

If Dack can return to action before this year's campaign reaches a conclusion, then it would be a real boost to Blackburn's chances of finishing inside the top-six in the Championship.

He's a player that can change the course of a game on his own at times, and his return couldn't come at a better time if deemed fit enough to do so.
