Blackburn Rovers have made a bid in the region of £500,000 for Derby County defender Craig Forsyth, according to the Daily Mail.
The left-back missed the majority of last season after suffering a serious injury to his cruciate ligament, but he has made his return to football during pre-season.
In the left-back area, the Rams have former Blackburn player Marcus Olsson and he may be considered as the first-choice next season.
Meanwhile, the only player that Rovers have in that position is young West Ham full-back Stephen Hendrie on loan who has no experience of the Championship.
Whereas Forsyth has that in abundance with 137 Championship appearances to his name.
The current offer may be a little weak at the moment but the Rams might be willing to listen to offers closer to £1 million.
Coyle has already secured a number of signings so far since taking the job at Ewood Park, most notably Anthony Stokes and Danny Graham.
