Blackburn Rovers slam £2.5m price tag on in-demand midfielder

According to the Mirror Live Blog [09:29 GMT], Blackburn Rovers have insisted that they will not sell star man Ben Marshall for anything less than £2.5m this January.

This news comes amid reports linking him with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Paul Lambert is reportedly keen to reunite with Ben Marshall, who he used to manage while he was at Blackburn Rovers.

The versatile star can play on either wing, as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or even as a right back and this type of versatility, as well as his vast knowledge of the Championship, makes him a top target for Wolves this January.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Wolves were hoping to snap up the 25-year-old on the cheap but Blackburn are adamant that he will not leave unless the Midlands club match their valuation.

Owen Coyle is keen to keep Marshall for Blackburn’s potential relegation dogfight.

Wolves fans – would you pay the £2.5m for Marshall? Would you risk leaving it until the summer when more clubs might be in for him?

Blackburn – would you sell Marshall this January?
