Sky Bet League One new boys Blackburn Rovers, enduring their first campaign in the third tier for over 47 years, are showing an interest in Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack, according to The Lancashire Telegraph.
Having come through the ranks at Priestfield, Dack is now the creative maestro of the Gills, and Rovers boss Tony Mowbray is on the search to enhance his squad ahead of the new season.
Dack’s 2015/16 campaign grabbed the attention of several Championship outfits, with the 23-year-old picking up the League One Player of the Year with thirteen goals and ten assists to underline his credentials at that level.
However, the last twelve months haven’t gone as planned and interest in his services have cooled, having produced a measly five goals alongside contributing a further seven assists, which has coincided with a number of injury problems.
The 23-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract at Gillingham and the club have, in the past, turned down previous bids in the region of £2 million from Bristol City.
Blackburn Rovers have already got their transfer business under way this summer window with the additions of experienced midfielder Peter Whittingham and defensive man Richie Smallwood, and it appears that Mowbray wants to add League One ace Dack so that they can battle for an immediate return to the Championship next term.
