Blackburn Rovers are in talks to sign Swansea City forward Jamal Lowe, according to Football Insider.
Tony Mowbray is on the hunt for reinforcements before the transfer window closes this evening, particularly in attacking areas.
Rovers lost Adam Armstrong to Southampton earlier this month and saw Harvey Elliott return to Liverpool after a bright loan spell at Ewood Park. Ian Poveda has joined on loan from Leeds, but further bodies are needed.
According to Football Insider, Rovers are in discussions over an ambitious late move for Swansea City forward Jamal Lowe.
Lowe joined Swansea from Wigan Athletic last summer, featuring in each of the Swans’ 46 Championship games last season and scoring 14 goals.
The 27-year-old is yet to get off the mark this season in what has been a slow start to the campaign for Russell Martin’s side, but is attracting interest from Ewood Park ahead of the window’s closure this evening.
Lowe has another two years left on his deal at the Liberty Stadium, and Swansea have a year’s extension option in his contract, too.
I would be very, very surprised to see Lowe leave Swansea for Blackburn before the transfer window closes tonight.
Swansea have struggled for goals from a regular source, except Joel Piroe, so far this season, so letting go of an attacker would be bold if they cannot find a replacement.
We know how good Lowe is, too. Andre Ayew was outstanding last season, but 14 goals in 46 games from Lowe is also an excellent record at this level.
