Blackburn Rovers are preparing for life in the Championship, with only a complete collapse now likely to stop them claiming second place.

With three games to play they lead Shrewsbury by seven points, with a win at Doncaster enough to secure their second-tier status. Anything less than a Shrews win against Peterborough tomorrow will also hand Mowbray's side promotion.

The focus now must be on retaining as much of the current squad as possible, adding the odd player here and there where they feel they can build value.

One big-name departure is likely to be Bradley Dack, his heroics have put him firmly on the radar of much bigger clubs.

Although their brief foray into League One has been a success, Rovers will not be looking for an immediate return and will hope to emulate Millwall and Sheffield United rather than Bolton.

With that in mind they must make their recruitment decisive and impressive. We feel that there's one player they cannot hesitate to bring to Ewood Park and must make the focus of their transfer policy, with two more to follow if they're to be a success at the higher level.

Along with Bradley Dack, Jack Payne has been inspirational this season whilst on loan from Huddersfield.

He knows the club, he has a role within the team and he can now be offered a level of football befitting his talents.

He has a year left of his current deal, but perhaps something can be agreed to take him to Ewood Park on loan again, or maybe even for good.

Grimes has had a decent season at Northampton, but it seems as though his Swansea career is faltering somewhat. He needs regular Championship football if he's going to rebuild his reputation and, having been with Rovers before, he would be a sensible signing.

If Bradley Dack leaves there's a hole to be filled and Grimes is still young and ambitious. Any move is likely to be on loan, but that would perhaps suit both sides, Swansea might want his value to grow ahead of a January sale and Rovers who might not want to make a big investment.

He might even be there for a good price if he's intimated to Swansea he wants out once his contract expires.

This might be a bit out of nowhere, but we think Duckens Nazon has a good future ahead of him and would suit Championship football.

Haitian international Nazon is on loan at Oldham, his second spell away from parent club Wolves this season. He looks unlikely to be required at Molineux, but Blackburn could make use of his explosive pace and raw power.
