Blackburn Rovers midfielder Brad Lyons could be set for a move away from Ewood Park in January as he goes in search of first team football.

The 21-year-old has struggled for minutes this term, but now, according to Alan Nixon, the Irishman could be set to make a move North of the border and join St Mirren on deal until the end of the season.

Lyons only signed for Rovers earlier in the year when he impressed following a trial period, allowing Tony Mowbray to offer the young midfielder a deal at Ewood Park.

However, with Blackburn doing so well back in the Championship this term, he has found chances hard to come by in the first team, and a move to a new club on a short-term loan deal could well do Lyons the world of good in terms of his development.

Blackburn themselves will no doubt be keen to see the youngster get some minutes under his belt, and a move to St Mirren would make good sense for all involved.

Lyons is capable of filling in across various positions in the midfield area, and Tony Mowbray will be hoping time away from the club will do him the world of good ahead of potentially being involved next term.

Rovers fans, what do you think? Is a move for Lyons a good idea? Let us know in the comments!
