Blackburn Rovers could make a move to sign former Rovers defender Jason Lowe, according to Alan Nixon on Twitter.

The versatile Lowe, who only left Blackburn in the summer following their relegation to League One, is on the rader for manager Tony Mowbray as he looks to guide his club to an immediate return to the Championship.

Lowe, who has struggled to make an impact at St Andrews in part due to injury, would no doubt welcome the move back to Ewood Park if the promise of regular first team football was there, having only made a handful of appearances for his new club under manager Steve Cotterill.

The 26-year-old was a product of the Rovers youth academy and made just shy of 200 appearances for his hometown club before finally saying goodbye this summer as the club looked to clear the decks and decrease the wage bill.

However, a loan move could be likely for Lowe, who will still have a strong affiliation for the club he spent so much time with growing up.

Blackburn fans, what do you think to this? Good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
