Sky Bet League One side Oldham Athletic have named Blackburn Rovers legend David Dunn as the club’s new permanent manager.
His role as an interim boss has turned into permanent basis – Dunn has been in charge of four games bringing in four points, and this has persuaded the board to give him the job on a permanent basis.
“The way he has approached the role has made it impossible for us not to give him his chance,” Oldham chairman Simon Corney told the club website.
“We believe his ambition, skills and positive influence will be pivotal to the club’s progression.”
Dunn had signed from Blackburn Rovers where he became a legend at Ewood Park, amassing a plethora of appearances and notching numerous goals for the club.
Oldham also known as the Latics, are currently on a 10 match winless run in all competitions, however with David Dunn the team’s fortunes have changed and they are climbing up the table to 18th.
The Latics face Scunthorpe United in their next Sky Bet League One clash, and Dunn will no doubt be hoping for three points to help propel them further up the division.
