Blackburn Rovers could be set to make a bold move to try and sign experienced Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann.

Rovers are looking to make some big signings this summer and according to Alan Nixon, have identified Dann as a potential signing as Tony Mowbray looks to improve his squad heading into next term.

Dann has fallen down the pecking order somewhat at Selhurst Park and the 32-year-old could well be keen on making a move away from the Premier League side as he looks to get some first-team football under his belt.

At 32, Dann is approaching the later years of his career and with Palace a club on the up and armed with regular Premier League money, there is every chance they will continue to strengthen the ranks to push Dann further down the order.

Blackburn on the other hand are looking to add some experience and quality to the ranks as they look to build on last season's impressive return to Championship football, and Rovers will see Dann as the ideal type of signing.

Dann has made in excess of 120 Premier League appearances since moving to Palace from Ewood Park back in 2014, and he might well see a move back to a familiar surrounding in Ewood Park as something what appeals this summer.

The Verdict

Dann is a superb defender and would be a real steal for any Championship club.

If Blackburn can somehow conduct a deal here, they would be getting quite the player and someone who at 32, still has plenty to offer in the second tier of English football.

Dann has height, quality on the ball and experience in abundance, meaning he'd be a superb capture for Rovers if they can pull it off.
