Former Manchester United and Sunderland defender Wes Brown is in advanced talks with Championship side Blackburn Rovers, reports BBC Sport.
The 36-year-old defender is currently without a club after his release from Sunderland at the end of last season, but is expected to make the move to Ewood Park before their EFL Cup tie against Leeds United tomorrow night.
The former England defender was already training with Rovers before he picked up a groin injury at the start of pre-season, however, Brown has now proved his fitness after training with the under-23 side.
Wes Brown will be a good signing for Owen Coyle’s side who are in desperate need of some experience and quality after really struggling in their opening 8 games of the campaign.
Brown’s experience will be hugely beneficial for Rovers and could help them push up the table by solidifying their defence.
