Blackburn Rovers ace Bradley Dack has taken a positive step towards playing once more for the Ewood Park club with him back in training with the u23 side as he begins to build up fitness.

The attacking midfielder missed a large portion of last season with an ACL injury and it has been nearly a year since we last saw him wearing a Rovers jersey.

However, he is stepping up his recovery now and, though he has not yet taken part in a first-team training session, he has linked up with the u23 side to begin putting the work back into his legs and fitness.

As quoted by Rovers' official website, manager Tony Mowbray had this to say on the positive news:

“He’s trained today, it was his first official day back training, but nobody was tackling him and he wasn’t with the first team.

“We need to keep intensity up and we couldn’t have a session where you couldn’t tackle anyone, so that’s why he was part of the Under-23s’ training session.

“He was back playing football and that’s telling me that he’s not too far away. A few weeks of that and eventually he’ll get back into full contract training."

The Verdict

This is obviously very good news and a story that Blackburn fans would have been waiting for ever since the injury news was confirmed.

Blackburn have scored a lot of goals this season but perhaps haven't won as many games as that should have got them and Dack's eventual return will boost them in the final third no end.

Obviously, they won't be rushing him back but he's stepping up that recovery now and he'll just be delighted to be back out on the grass.
