Blackburn Rovers are waiting for confirmation from the EFL that they completed two signings before Tuesday's transfer deadline, according to The Lancashire Telegraph.

Prior to deadline day, the Ewood Park club had made just one signing in the January transfer window, with winger Sorba Thomas joining on loan from Championship rivals Huddersfield Town.

However, it seems Rovers left it late to get their business done, although it things were signed off in time, there could still be some significant reinforcement to come for Jon Dahl Tomasson's side.

According to this latest update from The Lancashire Telegraph's Blackburn Transfer Blog (01/02, 11:31), Rovers are waiting for confirmation from the Football League that two deals were completed in time.

Both of deals will require the neccessary paperwork to have been submitted before 11:00pm on Tuesday night, and will now need to be confirmed by the EFL.

However, it is thought that the length of time it takes for it to become clear whether or not those signings were done in time, remains to be seen.

One of those potential signings who Rovers are likely waiting for confirmation of is Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O'Brien.

It was reported late on deadline day that the Nottingham Forest had been cleared to travel to Lancashire to undergo a medical ahead of a loan move with the option to buy if Rovers are promoted.

The Verdict

It feels as though this is going to be a very nervous wait for those of a Blackburn Rovers persuasion.

Going into deadline day, the makeup of the squad suggested that Tomasson's side badly needed to add some depth and experience to both their centre forward, and central midfield options.

As a result, if these two signings do fill those roles - O'Brien certainly does in midfield - then whether or not they were done in time, could be decisive in their push for promotion in the next few months.

That being said, if these deals do not go through, then there will be a sense that Blackburn will have only themselves to blame, for not taking more decisive action to get these deals done earlier in the month.
