Blackburn Rovers will make an attempt to sign D’Margio Wright-Phillips in the summer transfer window according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

The youngster arrived at Ewood Park on loan from Manchester City, and has seemingly made a good impression with Rovers' development squad this term.

Wright-Phillips is yet to break into the Blackburn first-team, as they put forward a strong challenge for a top-six finish in the Championship under Tony Mowbray's guidance.

Rovers are currently sat tenth in the second tier standings, and are just three points adrift of the play-off places with nine matches remaining in this year's campaign.

However, that push for a play-off place has been put on hold for the time being, with no scheduled return date being set as of yet for fixtures to be put back on the sporting calendar.

The off-the-field problems are likely to impact Blackburn's efforts to sign Wright-Phillips on a permanent deal, with the transfer window likely to re-open when this year's campaign is concluded.

Wright Phillips has a famous upbringing as well, with the 18-year-old's father being former Chelsea and Manchester City winger Shaun, who established himself in the top-flight during his playing career.

The Verdict:

They'll be hoping they can get an agreement in place at the earliest of opportunities.

He's clearly got something about him if he's with Manchester City in the first place, and it seems as though he's made a good impression with Blackburn's development squad this season.

If he can continue to impress, then you have to feel as though he could force his way into the first-team in the near future, although that could depend on which division Rovers are playing their football in, as game time would be hard to come by if they were in the Premier League next season.
