Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is a target for Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn could make a move for Foderingham with Rangers willing to listen to offers, according to the print edition of The Express reported via HITC Sport.

Since the arrival of Steven Gerrard as the new Rangers manager, Foderingham has dropped down the pecking order at Ibrox.

Jak Alnwick and Allan McGregor are ahead of him in Gerrard's reckoning so he could be allowed to move.

Blackburn are considering a move for the former England youth international as they aim to bolster their squad depth on the final day of the transfer window.

David Raya is the number one stopper at Ewood Park but after conceding two in the opening game, Tony Mowbray could bring in another goalkeeper to compete with the Spaniard.

Jayson Leutwiler is the back-up choice for Rovers, but Foderingham adds more competition for places.

The 27-year-old joined Rangers in 2015 from Swindon Town and has played 130 games for the Scottish giants, helping them win promotion back to the top flight and establish themselves again.

The Verdict

Foderingham would be a very useful option for Blackburn to have.

Raya is a good goalkeeper and does not need upgrading but having two top class goalkeepers is healthy.

If Blackburn could pull this off, then this could turn out to be impressive business.
