Blackburn Rovers are set to enter a new era in the 2022/23 season, as Jon Dahl Tomasson takes over as the club's new head coach.

The former Denmark international has plenty of work on his hands before then in the transfer window, as he looks to put together a squad capable of competing in the Championship, after a number of departures already this summer.

But of the current squad that Tomasson has at his disposal, who would make up the best 5-a-side team for Rovers?

We've put our selection together right here, so take a look and let us know if you agree with these picks!

In goal, the selection of Thomas Kaminski feels like something of a no-brainer. The Belgian has been the club's number one ever since arriving from Gent back in the summer of 2020, and has shown little reason for that to change for any reason.

The defensive role in this side goes to Lewis Travis. Many people's tip to be the new club captain, the 24-year-old has never been shy of a tackle, and has the determination and fitness to run all day, which would surely suit a 5-a-side situation such as this.

Further forward, the pace, trickery and close control of Tyrhys Dolan could see him thrive in these sorts of matches, while his tenacity off the ball that emerged last season would hardly give opponents a moment's respite.

Given his own instinct for getting in the right place at the right time to put the ball in the back of the net, and with the skillset that he too possesses, Bradley Dack would feel like another obvious selection for this side.

Rounding out this team to lead the line, perhaps not suprisingly, is Ben Brereton. Having found the net 22 times for Rovers last season, the Chile international is the club's most reliable source of goals in the current squad, meaning he is another who it seems inevitable would get the nod in the current situation.
