Blackburn Rovers and Brighton have agreed on the financials of a potential loan move for striker Deniz Undav but the deal has not progressed as expected, according to the Lancashire Telegraph

The Championship club saw George Hirst recalled by Leicester City and sent on loan to Ipswich Town earlier this month - leaving them searching for a replacement.

FLW understands Undav is on the radar of a host of second tier clubs, including Millwall, Norwich City, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion, and Rovers.

With the end of the window now fast approaching, the Lancashire Telegraph has provided an update on Blackburn's pursuit.

The report claims that they have agreed the financials of the deal but that a move has not progressed as expected since.

Roberto De Zerbi is said to have given Undav the green light to leave the AMEX this month but there are fears that the Seagulls or the player are holding out for a more attractive destination.

There is believed to be ongoing optimism that the deal could yet be done but Blackburn are thought to be considering other targets.

The 26-year-old has rarely been seen in a Brighton shirt but boasts an impressive goalscoring record in Belgium and Germany.

The Verdict

Things have gone a little quiet concerning Undav so it's interesting to get this update.

You'd imagine the 26-year-old will leave Brighton this month and it seems an agreement has been reached between Blackburn and his parent club over the cost of a deal.

Rovers will hope that the final days of the window will see things accelerate but with other Championship clubs keen, there is always the fear of losing out late on.

The good news is that other targets are under consideration as the club look to replace Hirst.
