Blackburn have launched a surprise late move to take Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott on loan, according to The Sun.

The teenage sensation moved to Anfield in 2018 after impressing for Fulham during the 2018-2019 campaign.

Elliott made his debut against Millwall at just 15-years-old, becoming the club's youngest ever first-team player and the youngest to feature in the League Cup.

He's made nine senior appearances for the Reds in the previous two seasons and was on the bench for both the 2019 Super Cup final and Club World Cup final victories.

Elliott's only outing this term came in the Carabao Cup mauling of Lincoln City last month and now Blackburn have made an approach to bring the youngster to Ewood Park on a season-long loan.

The signing of Diogo Jota has only pushed Elliott further down the pecking order, and a move to Lancashire could give him some much-needed regular game-time after a quiet start to the campaign - with Liverpool open to loaning him out.

Have each of these 15 Blackburn Rovers players scored a league goal this season? – Can you get 15/15?

The Verdict

In his short Liverpool career, Elliott has already impressed massively.

Despite his inexperience, he's looked more than capable of competing at first-team level, and the Championship would be a great learning curve for the youngster.

Free-scoring Blackburn have made a terrific start to the campaign and this would be a perfect new home for Elliott.
