Blackburn have joined the race for a Premier League goalkeeper.

According to journalist Pete O'Rourke, Norwich goalkeeper Jon McCracken is being lined up by Tony Mowbray up this summer.

However, according to the same tweet, O'Rourke believes that Newcastle and Hibernian are also chasing his signature.

Jon McCracken, only 19-years-old, has never made a senior experience in professional football, but has been catching the eye in the Premier League 2 this season.

The Scot was a youngster at Hamilton Academical and joined Norwich in 2016 and is now allegedly prepared to move in search for regular football, according to Football Insider.

The website claims that the Canaries are 'understood' to be willing to let McCracken leave on a free so that he can kick start his career.

A Newcastle source allegedly told Football Insider that the club are exploring the move for the Scot so they can bolster their keeping options.

The Verdict

If Blackburn can pip Newcastle or Hibs to this signing then it will be good business for them.

The keeper clearly has potential on the basis of the calibre of clubs interested in him.

McCracken will be wanting to experience first-team football, and he might find he has more of a chance of doing that at Blackburn than Newcastle, baring in mind the keepers they both have.
