Blackburn hit with blow as Premier League forward will not re-join club in January

Published

Blackburn Rovers have been dealt a major blow to their survival hopes as Swansea City boss Paul Clement is not prepared to let Marvin Emnes re-join the Championship side, according to The Sun.

Paul Clement oversaw his first game in charge of Swansea City, who are caught deep in a relegation battle in the top flight, as Arsenal thrashed them 4-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

It was a baptism of fire for Clement and he now wants to run the rule over the whole of his squad.

This includes Marvin Emnes, who has returned to South Wales after his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers expired after last Saturday’s match against Ipswich.

The Dutchman netted three goals in 20 games for Blackburn, who are in the relegation zone in the Championship.

Owen Coyle has already stated his desire to keep Emnes at Blackburn, either permanently or on loan so this news will come as a blow.
