Blackburn Rovers are eyeing up a move for former Derby County man Giles Barnes, according to a report in the Sun.
The 28-year-old has spent the last few years plying his trade over in America in the MLS, with spells with the Vancouver Whitecaps and Houston Dynamo to his name.
Barnes, who broke through into football with Derby as a teenager, was expected to have a bright career in England and go on to be one of the stars of Premier League. However, problems with injury hampered his progress, and he spent time on loan away from the Rams in the main.
Blackburn manager Owen Coyle is keen to add some more firepower to his team, and is a known admirer of the former Derby man.
Barnes has more than a dozen caps for Jamaica, and at 28 would bring some experience and know-how to the Blackburn ranks, with the club trying to stave off relegation to League One.
