Blackburn could be hit with summer blow as talented midfielder looks set to leave

Blackburn Rovers could be set to lose Connor Mahoney in the summer as he has still not signed a new contract yet, according to The Sun.

The Sun are reporting that the talented young winger has been offered a new £3,000 a week contract but he has not accepted it.

Mahoney has impressed with his displays for Blackburn this season, mainly off the bench.

The 20-year-old has two assists in 11 league games, 10 of which have been as a substitute.

The two-footed right winger also impressed as a substitute against Manchester United in the FA Cup with some impressive jinking runs.

Blackburn are keen to tie their academy product down to a new deal but Mahoney is currently stalling on signing anything.

Mahoney might be waiting to see if Blackburn stay up.

With seven games to play, Rovers occupy the final spot in the relegation zone with one point separating them from safety.

Blackburn fans – would losing Mahoney be a big blow? Does he have a bright future? Let us know in the comments below…
