According to The Daily Record, Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has clarified why Anthony Stokes is not getting any first team game time at Ewood Park.
Tony Mowbray has denied that there is a feud between him and Stokes but instead insists that his absence is down to personal issues.
Blackburn Rovers snapped up Anthony Stokes from Celtic in the summer after the forward had an impressive stint on loan at Hibernian.
After netting three goals in his first two games for Rovers, Stokes’ impact has waned and he has not played under Tony Mowbray at all.
The 28-year-old has also failed to feature in the league since he made a three minute cameo in early December.
Mowbray refused to disclose Stokes’ “few personal issues” but insists that this is the reason that he is not playing.
According to the Blackburn boss, Stokes is sorting out a few things in his life and needs time away from the pitch.
