There might be plenty of hype about the Championship returning in terms of the Football League this weekend, but League 1 and League 2 are also back with another round of important games.

Indeed, League 1 is proving as competitive as ever and fans of Blackburn Rovers are certainly finding that out with their side currently in mid-table in the third tier of English football.

Certainly, then, Tony Mowbray and his men will be eager to get his side up the table before too long - starting with a game against Rochdale this weekend - but it seems as though Bradley Dack could still be missing.

The talented Dack was signed from Gillingham in the summer transfer window but has endured a stuttering start at Ewood Park with a number of niggling injuries.

He is on his way back from them, though, but, speaking to the club's official website, Mowbray has revealed he doesn't plan to rush him back into the first team:

"Bradley, we have to be careful not to throw him in too soon.

"If we did that I’m sure he would break down again."

Probably wise stuff from the Rovers boss, then, though fans of the Ewood Park club will surely be hoping that he gets back into first-team reckoning as soon as possible as they aim to kick-start their season.

The Verdict

There is obviously going to be frustration from many quarters over Dack's stop-start beginning to his Rovers career but he does have talent and a string of games should allow him to show that.

For sure, his injury proneness at the moment needs to be managed, though, and so Mowbray's conservative approach to the player's return makes a lot of sense.
