Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has told the club's official website that Preston North End will present a very difficult challenge this weekend.

Preston travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn in the early kick-off on Saturday in a Lancashire derby, with both teams still fighting for something.

Blackburn crawled out of the relegation zone in midweek, courtesy of a late Lucas Joao equaliser, whilst Preston have an outside chance of making the play-offs.

Tony Mowbray said:

"I hadn't seen Preston this season, so I've only just started watching them, but what I do know is that they are in a decent league position.

"There are some huge clubs in this league and with total respect to Preston they are not too long out of the league below.

"But they have managed to stabilise themselves very well in the Championship and are now pushing on towards trying to make the play-offs.

"So you have got to be very impressed with the job that Simon Grayson has done.

"We know that they are going to be a tough ask for us."

Mowbray also singled out Aiden McGeady as the danger man, having worked with him before at Celtic.
