Hibernian’s Oliver Shaw is wanted by several Championship sides including Blackburn and Wigan as we approach the final few weeks of the window.
The 21-year-old has impressed over the past few years in the capital and scored six goals as Hibs finished fifth in the Scottish Premiership in the last campaign.
Even though it’s not the most impressive goal return, Shaw was often used as a substitute and it doesn’t highlight his overall contribution to the team.
And, it appears his form has caught the eye of many in the Championship, with the Edinburgh Evening News claiming that Rovers and the Latics are seriously interested in the Scotland U21 international. Meanwhile, the Scottish Sun have also stated that Barnsley are keen on the player.
Whilst Shaw featured in 26 games last season for Hibs, he struggled for regular game time once Paul Heckingbottom was appointed as manager and hasn’t actually started one match since the ex-Leeds boss took over.
Shaw has two years left on his contract at Easter Road so the club will not be desperate to shift the exciting youngster.
You wouldn’t be surprised to see Shaw leave Hibs this summer as Heckigbottom clearly isn’t a massive fan of the player as he preferred other options since taking over.
So, the chance to move to the Championship will excite the player and you can understand why there is a lot of interest.
Shaw has the physicality to cope in England and given his age he is a striker that has his best years in front of him and clubs will recognise that potential.
It’s now down to those interested to make an offer and it could be a real battle to land the player given all the clubs monitoring Shaw.
