With only a year remaining on his contract at Peterborough United, Michael Bostwick has been transfer listed by the Cambridgeshire based club who expect a number of potential suitors for their 29-year-old midfielder.

Blackburn Rovers are reported to have had a bid turned down for the midfielder, but manager Tony Mowbray must return to the Posh with a better offer as securing the midfielder’s services could prove the difference at Ewood Park next season.

The player has dominated the midfield at London Road for five years, and the goalscoring midfielder is ready to make the step to a bigger club.

Blackburn are one of the favourites for the title next season, and Bostwick will see a move to the north west as his opportunity to play Championship football once again.

Mowbray needs new options in the middle following the release of Jason Lowe and Danny Guthrie, and Bostwick could take up the mantle in the middle and guide Blackburn towards the top two.

The third tier will not be easy for Rovers to escape, with the division set to be as competitive as ever next year, but the addition of Bostwick will go a long way in ensuring that Rovers are there or thereabouts by the time May 2018 rolls around.
