It was another frustrating night for Aston Villa as they drew against Middlesbrough at Villa Park 0-0 in the Championship.

The men in claret and blue have not had the best start to this season and for many this was a game that Steve Bruce really needed to win to alleviate some of the pressure on him.

For sure, Villa threw a lot at Boro with them having chances but they just didn't have enough going forwards to find the breakthrough so they'll be hoping the return of Jonathan Kodjia will help solve that.

Indeed, another 0-0 draw was recorded - despite Middlesbrough being down to ten men for over 85 minutes of the match.

For sure, then, criticism will be aimed at Bruce for a number of reasons - one of which being that he played Icelandic international Birkir Bjarnason completely out of position and down the left wing.

For some Villa fans, then, that kind of move highlighted that Bruce is more concerned about not losing instead of going on the attack and we've been thinking about what he should have done instead.
