Many Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that the club reportedly registered late interest in signing Jack Clarke from Tottenham Hotspur, as per The Athletic journalist Ryan Conway.

The winger, who returned to Spurs earlier this month following a brief loan stint at Leeds United, is now thought to be close to agreeing a temporary move to Queens Park Rangers.

Handed his professional debut by Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa in 2018, Clarke produced a number of stand-out performances for the club in the Championship before joining Tottenham last summer for an initial fee of £10m.

However, after re-joining Leeds on loan, the 19-year-old ultimately failed to make any inroads on the club's starting eleven due to the presence of Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Pablo Hernandez.

Derby, who are currently 17th in the Championship standings, have yet to add to their squad in the January transfer window.

Given that the Rams have lacked consistency going forward this season, it would be somewhat of a shock if they fail to bolster their attacking options in the coming weeks.
