Plenty of Leeds United fans have taken to social media to react after the Championship club confirmed that striker Rafa Mujica has joined Spanish second division side Extremadura UD on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old joined Leeds on a free transfer this summer after his contract expired at Spanish giants Barcelona and did feature for the Whites during pre-season.

Leeds have made an encouraging start to the new season and currently sit top of the Championship table on goal difference, but Mujica is yet to be named in Marcelo Bielsa's matchday squad for any of their games so far.

The Spanish centre-forward arrived at Leeds with a reputation as a talented young player after scoring seven goals in 33 appearances for Barcelona’s B team last season, but he has now returned to his homeland to continue his development.

Plenty of Leeds fans took to social media to react to the news. Some fans were pleased with the decision, pointing out that it will be good for the player to experience regular first-team football in Spain.

Other Leeds fans did not seem bothered at all by the news that Mujica would be leaving Elland Road on loan, considering he only joined the club in the summer.
