According to Teamtalk, Morgan Fox is wanted by a host of clubs this summer as his contract approaches expiry at Sheffield Wednesday.

Among the clubs interested, Scottish giants Rangers with Steven Gerrard looking to bolster his side and win the title back from Celtic.

Would the full-back be a good addition at Ibrox, then? Our writers discuss...

Alfie Burns

I like the way that Fox has gone about his business this season in the Championship. He’s squashed any doubt surrounding his ability and shown himself to be one of Wednesday’s best players.

That sort of mindset would serve him well at Ibrox and I can definitely see him being a hit north of the border.

Rangers fans will demand the very best of Fox, which will be another challenge for him, but given his form at Wednesday this season, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Then, when you consider the finance of the deal, it looks a bit of no-brainer.

Fox has been a regular under Garry Monk, and it would be a big blow for the Owls if they were to lose the defender for free in my opinion.

Fox is solid defensively but needs work on the attacking side of his game, I feel, and that is something Steven Gerrard would be looking to get out of him if he made the switch to Glasgow.

He would be a solid pick up on a free transfer and would add real stability to the back-line, and he has already amassed plenty of first-team appearances despite being 26 years of age.

His experience could be of real use to the club's younger players as the Ibrox club prepare to close the gap on bitter rivals Celtic.

Ned Holmes

Fox has really shown his quality in at Wednesday this season and I think it could be a smart, good value signing for Rangers.

The full-back has not been fully convincing during his time at Hillsborough but this term he has been one of Garry Monk's most reliable players.

It will frustrate the Owls to see him walk away but Rangers will be bringing in a solid defender and someone that could become a regular under Steven Gerrard.

Adding him as a free agent makes this an even better move for the Scottish club and one they should push hard to get done.
