Bristol City could yet make the loan-deal of Benik Afobe permanent, reports the Bristol Post.

The Stoke City forward joined on-loan at the start of the season and after making an impression in his first few games - he scored three goals in his first five Championship appearances for the Robins - they could make his stay permanent.

But he's not featured since the opening weeks of the campaign having picked up an knee injury, and subsequently being ruled out for the remainder of the season.

He was a favourite at Ashton Gate during his brief cameo, and fans have been desperate to see more of him - the 27-year-old could well feature again before the end of the season.

Stoke though will likely want to recoup most of the £12 million that they paid Wolves for Afobe in 2018. It's a hefty price-tag for a striker who's not getting any younger, but plenty of Bristol City fans would love to see the move happen:
