Reading midfielder Michael Olise has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for the Royals, as they mount a surprise challenge for promotion into the Premier League.

The youngster has chipped in with two goals and three assists in his ten appearances for the Berkshire-based side, who are sat top of the second-tier standings.

It appears as though his strong performances haven't gone unnoticed though, with the likes of Leeds United, Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund all registering their interest in landing his signature according to TEAMtalk.

It has now been reported by Football Insider that Olise has a release clause of £8million, which is certain to see clubs' interest in his services heighten.

Football League World's Reading FC supporter Cameron Wyper has reacted to the news of this update on Olise's release clause, and felt as though he should be worth more, and compared it to the deal that saw Jude Bellingham sign for German giants Borussia Dortmund from Birmingham City.

"The news of an £8 million release clause on Michael Olise is a bit of a dampener.

"If you compare that to the £22.75m fee Birmingham City got for Jude Bellingham, another teenage attacking-midfielder who was playing regularly in the Championship, it’s hard to see how Bellingham is worth nearly three times as much, when Olise manages five goal contributions in just the first nine games this season, whereas Bellingham managed six in the 41 games he played last season.

"Therefore, it is difficult for Reading fans not to feel hard done by if there is truth to this clause."

The Reading supporter went on to admit that he struggles to see Olise staying with the club if they are to fail to win promotion into the Premier League this term.

"I’m a firm believer that Olise has the potential to be playing in the top leagues of any country in the world, so it would be naïve to assume that he would not want a move to a top-tier club.

"However, Olise is getting regular football at Reading, and if the club’s current form continues, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the club may still be up there in the fight for promotion come January, and thus Olise may be more inclined to see where the club can go for the rest of the season.

"If that is the case, but Reading fail to get promoted this season, I cannot see Olise staying at the club beyond the summer. If the club goes up, surely Olise must give hard thought to staying."

Olise and his Reading team-mates are set to return to action on Wednesday evening, when they take on Preston North End at the Madejski Stadium, in what is certain to be a tricky test for Veljko Paunovic's side.
