Garry Monk is undoubtedly the man to thank for Birmingham City's turnaround in form this season.

Having gone eight matches without a win at the start of the season, the Blues then won five of their next seven matches, extending their unbeaten run to 10 games before losing to Derby at the weekend.

That run has put them to within touching distance of the play-offs, with the Blues currently just three points behind Nottingham Forest, who occupy the final spot in the top six.

One player who has been crucial in that run is Jota.

The 27-year-old has been directly involved in six goals this season, scoring once and assisting five more to help propel the Blues up the table.

But, with that glowing form comes outsider interest, and if a big club comes in for the winger with a big offer, he could well be off.

That should not necessarily be a cause for concern, though.

Monk's readymade replacement for the tricky winger is currently at a fellow West Midlands club and goes by the name of Jodi Jones.

The winger has had rotten luck over the last year or so with injuries, suffering a cruciate ligament injury last season, which also saw him miss the start of the current campaign.

But the 22-year-old's directness, skill, pace and end product are all attributes that make him the perfect replacement for Jota.

He has scored eight goals and assisted 15 more in his 78 appearances for the Sky Blues, but that would undoubtedly improve when he is providing for the likes of Lukas Jutkiewicz and Che Adams.
