According to the Birmingham Mail, Birmingham City have seen loan signing Liam Walsh go back to Everton to train with him looking unlikely to get first team football.

The Blues have really struggled so far this season in the Championship with them in a relegation fight, despite a good amount of money being spent in the summer.

It's up to Steve Cotterill to try and find a solution to that, then, and it looks as though young Walsh is not a part of his immediate plans right now.

That, though, might change and so despite Walsh being back at Everton and available to play for their U23 side, he is also available to play for Birmingham if Cotterill decides he wants to use him.

It's an interesting factor that we don't normally see between two clubs and it'll be intriguing to see if Birmingham decide that they do want him at some point during the year.

Indeed, they'll surely have to give Everton some decent notice as otherwise we could see some sort of fixture clash, which wouldn't help anyone at all.

The Verdict

The Blues have struggled so far this season and clearly Cotterill feels as though it is too much of a risk to use the youth of Walsh at the moment.

He might change his mind, though, and so the door is still more than open for Walsh to feature in the Championship this season.
