According to reports in the Turkish media, Kerim Frei is keen to leave Birmingham City already.

Turkish media outlet Fanatik – via Turkish Football – have reported that the attacking midfielder wants to return to Besiktas just four months after joining Birmingham.

Kerim Frei swapped the black and white of Besiktas to join Gianfranco Zola at Birmingham in the January transfer window.

The deal cost the Blues £2.2m, according to BBC Sport.

However, the 23-year-old failed to make much of an impact as Birmingham slumped into a relegation battle.

The winger managed just three starts and a further ten substitute appearances, contributing one goal in that time.

The Turkey international now wants to return to Besiktas, who he joined from Fulham in 2013.

Frei has admitted that he is unhappy in England and the Austrian-born, former Switzerland youth international wants to secure a return to Turkey.

It is unclear whether Frei features in Harry Redknapp’s plans for the upcoming season.
