Blackburn captain Jason Lowe will leave Ewood Park this summer at the expiration of his contract following the club’s relegation to League One, and a number of clubs are sure to express an interest in the dominating midfielder.

The 26-year-old has spent his entire career with the Lancashire club minus a seven game loan spell with Oldham in 2011, and it will not be long before another Championship side swoops to ensure Lowe occupies the middle of the park at their respective club next season.

Over in Birmingham, Harry Redknapp is capturing the hearts and minds of Blues fans, who hope the former Tottenham boss will lead their side away from relegation worries to the upper reaches of the league.

Redknapp will spend at least another year at St Andrews, and should look to add Lowe to his revolution in the west midlands.

Birmingham will need leaders to emerge in the side next year if they are to transform from relegation candidates to promotion hopefuls, and Lowe’s experience leading Rovers could prove essential to any promotion push.

Available on a free, Lowe is a low risk, high reward option for Redknapp, and should be snapped up by the FA Cup winning manager as soon as possible.
