Championship side Birmingham City have made a shock move to rival Arsenal and West Ham for winger Henry Onyekuru, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues have lodged a stunning club record £7.5 million bid for the 20-year-old and will rival a number of Premier League sides including Arsenal.

He can play up front but is predominantly a left winger at Belgian club Eupen, where he scored 25 goals last season for a lower mid-table team attracting interest from across England and also from teams in Europe.

At the moment, West Ham are the runaway front runners for the Nigeria international, with Swansea, BrightonNewcastle and Arsenal all vying for the extremely talented youngster.

This is an extremely unprecedented move from Harry Redknapp who is doing some high profile business this summer and spending a lot of money.

After signing David Stockdale, the Championship club are also set to sign Premier League legend John Terry, who would no doubt command some high wages, another statement signing from the club, who were almost relegated last year.
