Birmingham City really need to start turning things around this season if they are serious about reaching the top six spots come the end of the campaign.

The men from St. Andrew's have not had the best start to their year this time around but Harry Redknapp has been constant in saying that the Blues will get their act together and then get up the league table.

That's positive, of course, but actions speak louder than words and so the players need to deliver on Redknapp's claims before too long.

A win against a handy looking Preston side would be ideal this weekend, then, and it seems as though Isaac Vassell will be back in the side - as per the club's official Twitter account:

Some good news for the Blues, then, as they look to take on a team that beat the - up to then - unbeaten Cardiff side last time out.

Indeed, Preston have looked rather impressive with the way they've gone under the radar and so this will be another test of the Blues and whether they are turning a corner yet or not.

The Verdict

Redknapp's squad has got talent laced through it but it just hasn't come together for him yet.

For sure, that makes sense when you consider the amount of players that arrived but things should be turning around soon or there will be a suggestion that it's not going to.

Certainly, then, he'll be pleased to be able to call upon Vassell's services again.
