One of this season's breakout stars in the Championship is undoubtedly Birmingham City striker Che Adams.

Okay, most fans of the Football League will have been well aware of his talents before the current campaign, but there is little doubt that he has now stepped up into the category of the Championship's very best strikers.

The 22-year-old made the move to St. Andrew's in the summer of 2016 for just under £2million, taking his time to find his feet at the club but has scored an impressive 19 Championship goals in 32 appearances this season, assisting four more as well.

With success like that, however, there will always come interest and this case is no different.

TeamTalk reported yesterday that the likes of Everton, Tottenham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace were all interested in bringing in the red-hot striker.

However, they also said that the Blues would not be willing to accept anything less than £20million for their star man either.

With these latest rumours coming to the fore, what should Birmingham's fans be thinking?

The harsh reality for clubs in the Football League is that you are always vulnerable and the joy of possessing a talented player is always accompanied by the nagging dread that they will be poached by somebody at the next opportunity.

This is a feeling that the Blues fans will have been carrying with them throughout the season so it should not be a surprise to them to see Adams linked with a move away again.

Although that should not make it any less disappointing. £20million would be a tremendous amount of money and a club like Birmingham cannot afford to turn it down, but the prospect of losing a star talent like Adams should still sting.
