Fulham are back on top of the Sky Bet Championship tree after a couple of thumping victories over Reading and Bristol City respectively.

13 goals in 2 matches has seen the Cottagers back to their brilliant best and they'll now be looking to try and pull away from the pack and avoid getting drawn back in with another run of patchy form.

Meanwhile, the January transfer window has entered its second half and there are plenty of rumours doing the rounds surrounding the men from Craven Cottage at the moment.

That said, let's take a look at some of the key headlines...

Birmingham eye Mawson

As per Birmingham Live, among others, talks are underway over Mawson completing a permanent switch from Fulham to Birmingham City.

The Blues need to add another defender and Fulham have plenty at their disposal, with Mawson firmly down the pecking order at the Cottage.

This is a deal that makes sense for all involved, and we'll just have to wait and see if it gets done.

Eriksen on the radar

Christian Eriksen wants to get back playing football now after recovering from his cardiac arrest last year in EURO 2020.

Serie A rules meant that Inter Milan had to release him from his contract and the Dane is now eyeing a move back to England.

Several clubs are keen and, among them, Football League World has been told that Fulham are interested.

A top class player, this would be some coup if Fulham could pull it off.

West Ham mulling over Carvalho move

Fabio Carvalho's contract is up at the end of this season and it currently looks like an exit from Fulham is the most likely route he is going to be taking at some point this year.

It just remains to be seen if that is in the summer or if it is in the current market, with West Ham among the sides apparently mulling over a January move.

According to ex-WHUemployee, speaking to the West Ham Way podcast, the Hammers might be tempted to make a move:

“Carvalho at Fulham is a guy we like. His contract expires in the summer. He’s not a priority position in January but we could move early for him.”
